Samsung Galaxy S7 Android Nougat Beta 5 Fixes Reboot Issue, Updates Notifications

  • Samsung Galaxy S7

The fifth beta update for Android Nougat on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge brings a fix for the rebooting issuethat developed amid the previous beta update.
Users in Samsung’s beta program have reported handsets rebooting on their own intermittently, though frequently enough for it to be noted as an issue. The wireless update addresses the issue within its change log. The update is available for beta users in the U.K. and Korea.

Users will also notice a change to notifications that appear on the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge lockscreen. The notification panels are now more transparent, making it easier to see the lockscreen wallpaper regardless of whether there’s a notification on screen. There is no telling whether the feature will remain for the official Android Nougat update. Samsung has tested other features in previous beta versions, only to take them away later.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat when the software becomes publicly available. With the end of December looming, it appears the official software rollout will take place in January.
