The National Revenue Authority (NRA) last Thursday in Kono, closed down over 20 businesses and mining companies for failing to pay their taxes.
According to the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mohamed Bangura, they undertook the

exercise to close down Nimini Mining Company’s mining site and to check on other mining companies that were operating in the community.
“When we went to close down Nimini mines, we found out that a mining company that has disappeared in our tax radar  Boart Long Year (BLY) was operating in the mines. We immediately took the appropriate action by taking over all their equipment and vehicles then we sealed their offices and mining plot.”
