Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude hits central Okalahoma




An earthquake measured at 5.0 magnitude struck the town of Cushing in the northeast of Oklahoma City damaging several buildings. There have been no casualties so far in the quake after the heavy tremors 
were felt as far away as Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Arkansas when it happened at about 50 miles (80km) of the city at 19:44 local time (01:44 GMT Monday).

The Cushing Police Department in a statement, reported that the shakes caused ‘quite of bit of damage’ from the earthquake and said parts of downtown were being evacuated due to gas leaks.

According to the data provided by the US Geological Survey, it confirmed that there have been 19 earthquakes in Oklahoma in the past week.
