Mr. President, I want to thank and acknowledge you for some of your developmental strides since you took over office in *2007*.
You have to some extent contributed to the the infrastructural uplift of the country.
I'm dearly concerned at the moment about the austerity measures your government is about to put in place as a result of the economic downtrend in the country.
It is true that some of the measures cited in the austerity issue would would help boom the economy and improve on other sectors. But this I think should not be at the detriment of the *poor Sierra Leoneans* whose interest and favor the government is to seek.
On the area of the removal of fuel subsidy, it is fine but must consider the negative implications of such decision especially to the average man.
The bag of rice which was previously sold at one hundred thousand leones has now considerably reached the pick of about the tune of two hundred thousand leones and even above that.
If this continues, the masses would continue to suffer. *Our women and girls would bear the greatest penalty thus contributing to massive teenage pregnancy, child neglect, abortion, women abuse amongst others*.
I'm sure the government would not be pleased to see these happening. As such, am kindly requesting that some of the austerity measures are being looked into with the view of changing them to suit the comfort of the people whose interest the government is working.
Mr. President, a lot of homes are starving today because of your polices especially at the latter of this your second term in governance and it should not be this way.
Sir, think about your promises to the people and consider the sufferings your government has subjected a cross section of the masses to.
Long live Sierra Leone and long live to the unity and serenity in this country.
