Sierra Leone Hopes For High Yields And Quality Production as World Bank Supports Agriculyure

Over the years World Bank has been contributing greatly to the the country's Agricultural development the Wet Africa Agricultural Productivity Program (WAAPP). With this improvement and addition there is hope for quality yields and production in the near future.

The Senior Research Specialist at the Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) at Rokupr, Dr. Dennis Taylor says with support from World Bank, there is hope for high yields, attraction to markets and increased income for farmers. he also attest that this is a move to eradicate poverty. The aim of WAAPP is to  build capacities of  farmers  with focus on reducing poverty, by using improved technology to boost production. According to Dr. Taylor, WAAPP has provided laborratories, supply equipments, rehabilitate the institute and training of students.
