Sierra Leone News :Government To Spend Le4.7 Trillion Next Year?




The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Momodu Lamin Kargbo is to present a bill entitled “The Appropriation Act, 2017” in the Well of Parliament on Friday 11th November, 2016.




The “Appropriation Act, 2017” seeks to authorize expenditure from the Consolidated Fund for the services of Sierra Leone for the year 2017 and for other related matters.
Under the Agenda for Prosperity Pillar 3 (Accelerating Human Development), the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will receive for the Financial Year 2017 the sum of Le125, 408, 739,300 (One hundred and twenty five Billion, four hundred and eight million, Seven hundred and thirty nine hundred Leones and three cents).
The office of Chief of Staff at State House will receive in the Financial Year 2017, Le5,889,505,000 (Five Billion eight hundred and eighty nine Million and five hundred and five thousand cents).
The office of the Vice President will receive for expenditure in 2017, the sum of Le10,840,916,400 (Ten Billion, eight hundred and forty million nine hundred and sixteen thousand four hundred Leones).
The National Civil Registration Project will receive Le180,000,000 (One hundred and eighty Billion Leones) for the Financial Year 2017.
The National Electoral Commission will receive the sum of Le209,534,000, 000 (Two Hundred and nine Billion Five hundred and thirty four million Leones).
The commencement date of these expenditures is the 1st day of January 2017.
